The SS100 Shear beam Type load cells function as transducers, use strain gauges to translate force or weight into an electrical wave. The metal used to make the load cell has elastic qualities, which cause the body to flex when a weight is applied. Affixed strain gauges, arranged and fastened to the load cell's outside, will likewise flex or compress next to the main body. This modifies their electrical resistance, which in turn causes the voltage across the circuit to fluctuate. This impact may be quantified since it is proportionate to the starting force or weight.
